Maintenance day @ N 35º 39.54’, E 25º 03.99’! The ADCP device collecting Diel Vertical Migration measurements for Task 2.4 was successfully recovered after 134 days in the field. After data retrieval, a fiddly battery replacement, and necessary diagnostics, the device was ready for re-deployment. The mooring line was checked and rebuilt, and the ADCP returned to its home at 450 meters for another round of DVM recordings. Apart from mooring work, biological samples were also collected from a depth of ~ 400 meters by means of a pelagic trawl. Specimens of Diaphus rafinesquii were most abundant in the catch, followed by Cyclothone sp., Chauliodus sloani, and Lobianchia sp.
